This Week’s Adventures: We examined the shape of things!
Favorite Activities: A simple piece of yarn was inspiration for creating all sorts of shapes. Our story stones prompted magical stories during our trail walk. We took our camera on the trail to photograph shapes found outside to create a class book. A basket of recycled objects sparked more shape identification and shapes to trace. We also love making shapes in our natural journals on the trail and meeting a baby box turtle – what a cute shape it has!

Try this at Home: Go on a shape scavenger hunt! Trace shapes you find from lids, playing cards, spoons, cans and more. When you’re finished tracing, cut out your shapes and paste them into a collage.
