Nature Preschool had a lovely week discovering the colors of spring! We focused on rainbows, light and color. The spring scene at Irvine is mostly green. Luckily the nature preschoolers have expert “owl eyes” and spotted red leaves, orange clay, yellow dandelions, blueish earthworms and purple violets. Our week was full of overcast, damp days; those are the best kinds for massive mud play and hiking in the rain!
Our favorite moments this week included:
– Making a colorful class rainbow by painting and printing with our hands!
– Eating plenty of colorful fruits for snack – we even made kabobs.
– Reading stories while mixing two different colors of playdough. The children loved seeing the new color start to reveal itself!
– Camouflaging in the forest under green sheets. It was the ultimate game of hide and seek!
– Dancing, swirling and whirling with stick rainbow ribbon dancers!
We are still waiting for sun to come out and reveal our rainbow! Until then, check out all the fun in our picture galleries below.
