VOLUNTEER NATURALISTS NEEDED
Become a member of the Irvine Education Team by joining us as a Volunteer Naturalist this season! Share your appreciation of the environment with children, learn new skills, spend time outdoors and meet new people, all while serving as a Volunteer Naturalist. Irvine’s Volunteer Naturalists provide environmental education to elementary and middle school aged children by helping to lead field trips on our property and assist with Nature in the Classroom lessons in schools throughout our community.
Have you considered becoming a Volunteer Naturalist? Join us for a 3-day training– March 25 & March 27 – to learn about being a part of the Irvine Nature Center team – leading school groups and other public events. Meet a great group of adults looking to make a difference in the lives of young learners. Registration required. Lunch will be served.
To become a Volunteer Naturalist, one must:
> have availability weekdays from 9:30am – 12:30pm. (This is when most of our field trips are scheduled.)
> Lead at least five field trips in their first season
> Attend a Volunteer Naturalist Training
> Complete Irvine’s Volunteer Application
Volunteers are an essential part of Irvine’s operations. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and abilities.
