Just a quick post inspired by a day bookended with conversations about giving to non-profits such as Irvine Nature Center.
We started the day with planned giving expert Paula Einaudi who has just retired from Garrison Forest School as their Director of Development. She graciously walked us through the different ways in which we can structure a planned gift. It was particularly exciting to hear how even modest donors can make a huge impact with enough planning. Some ways are as easy as naming Irvine as a beneficiary of a percentage of your life insurance policy or IRA, something easily done online or by a phone call to your financial planner. If you are interested in making a planned gift to Irvine, just visit our website http://explorenature.plannedgiving.org/ for more information or call Janet Harvey at 443-738-9231.
Later in the day I followed up on an email forwarded by an Irvine trustee about Giving Tuesday on December 3rd here in Baltimore. Peter Jackson at GiveCorps is helping us participate in this exciting initiative as we try to raise some money to enhance our visitors’ experience at Irvine. In case you are not familiar with GiveCorps, you can check out their website here https://givecorps.com/en/baltimore. To see what we are doing through GiveCorps, check out our page https://givecorps.com/en/baltimore/causes/48-irvine-nature-center. This is an amazing way to witness how even the smallest of donations to a place like Irvine can accumulate and make a big difference.
So whether you are a retiree wanting to leave a lasting legacy or a millenial wanting to dip your toe in the philanthropic waters, there are a multitude of great ways to give and see the impact of your generosity. Thanks in advance for considering Irvine in your philanthropic endeavors.
