On January 23rd Irvine Nature Center paid a visit to John Ruhrah Elementary/Middle School to teach some different aspects of the water cycle. The room was set up into five different stations where the 3rd grade students would learn about Transpiration, Perspiration, Run Off, Ground Water, and how to draw their own water cycle.
The students favorite station had to be the “Perspiration Station” where they were instructed to jump up and down for 60 seconds, and then repeat five times. The kids were learning by doing, and they realized then that they were part of the water cycle by sweating water. They were also having a ton of fun!
