The Eco-Explorers Summer Session at Sparks Elementary was a huge success once again! We started our week hiking the beautiful trails and getting muddy in the stream. Along our hikes, we observed honey bees and butterflies buzzing around collecting nectar. We found milkweed, learned about Monarch Butterflies, and caught insects with our nets! At the stream, we were professional crayfish and minnow catchers. Searching under rocks, we had no shortage of critters to catch and observe. Outside of the stream, we continued the fun with volcano experiments, making shadow people on the sidewalk, and parachute games. All the campers went home a little muddier than they came, but left with wonderful memories to last all summer.
