This July, 13 employees from BGE joined Irvine for a morning of volunteer service. The team worked on several different projects, ranging from manual labor to arts and crafts!
First, the team mulched the Outdoor Classroom. They put a thick layer of mulch below trees, logs, balance beam, or any other fun “jump-off” points! The squishy mulch will act as a shock absorber for any young explorers. They also removed some broken hopscotch stones, and a large downed limb.
Next, the team got to work on maintaining our trails by trimming back overgrown shrubs and vines. The group also worked on craft prep for PumpkinFest this fall, including stringing tree cookie necklaces, dyeing noodles for necklaces, and painting story stones. All in all, an incredibly productive morning of volunteering!
