Irvine Nature Center is pleased to announce a new hire for the nonprofit’s Education Team; Brian Rollfinke joins the organization as Director of Education.
Rollfinke comes to Irvine Nature Center after over thirty years of teaching at Friends School of Baltimore where he instructed students in Pre-Algebra and Algebra; he also served as the Coordinator for the Middle School Math Department. An avid birder and environmentalist, Rollfinke has decades of experience leading and engaging in Citizen Science projects including tracking avian migration patterns, gathering data on bird behaviors, and studying the impact of deforestation on native bird species. Rollfinke holds a master’s degree in Ecology from The Pennsylvania State University, as well as a BA in Biology from Wake Forest University.
“We are thrilled to have an educator of this caliber joining our team at Irvine,” said Irvine Executive Director Brooks Paternotte. “I have no doubt that Brian will bring his trademark enthusiasm and love of learning to all aspects of Irvine and we’re excited to have him on board.”
Rollfinke will begin his tenure as Irvine’s Director of Education on January 1, 2020. He was chosen to replace Irvine’s long-serving and much-loved Director of Education, Robert Mardiney, upon his retirement this year.
