This winter, students in grades 3rd-5th have been exploring with Microscopes! Students are viewing the world through different eyes. After learning about the importance of microscopes and the different parts of the microscope, students have been viewing all sorts of nature! They learned how to make their own slides and have been able to view soil, a drop of stream water, cork and even skin cells! These observations will teach kids the difference between plant cells and animals cells. More importantly, students are realizing that there is more to nature than what we can see with the naked eye.
Using microscopes has allowed us to view nature, even on the coldest days. By bringing nature inside, students are experiencing a different perspective.
