July’s Volunteer of the Month is the always enthusiastic Olivia Mahaffey! Olivia, a student at Oldfields School, has volunteered as a Youth Program Leader with Summer Nature Camp the past two years. Olivia was nominated by Courtney Sagal, Irvine’s Director of Community Engagement. In her nomination letter, Courtney said:
“I am constantly amazed at Olivia’s maturity, hardworking attitude and willingness to help others. When asked for Irvine’s next volunteer of the month nomination, I immediately thought of Olivia as she demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities, patience, and reliability. Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization, and young volunteers like Olivia are truly inspirational.”
Devon Rothschild, a Lead Counselor who worked with Olivia this summer added that “Olivia made camp run so smoothly, took initiative, and interacted so well with the children. I feel incredibly lucky to have had her in camp with me this summer!”
All of us at Irvine are lucky to have Olivia as a volunteer! Thank you Olivia, for all that you do!
